digital scurrying



by monome:
a reconfigurable grid of backlit keypads which connects to a computer. interaction between the keys and lights is determined by the application running on the computer. there is no hard-wired functionality.

A simulation of global air traffic, put together by ppl at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. The map uses data from Flightstats.com, and overlays their position on a Miller cylindrical projection.

happy holidays from your webcam

tellart put together this cool "instrument." using the FLARToolkit and Papervision3D, they got your webcam to recognize pictures and play a note and created some cute little falling snowflakes to boot.

on a side note, nahm family christmas 2008 was all about skyping our relatives via the new big tv my parents bought. my aunts, uncles, and cousins were bigger-than-life-size.
